Presentation
The OC-S10 embodies Austrian Audio's vision of a versatile and demanding studio microphone. Designed as a true reference tool, it is aimed at sound engineers, producers and artists who are looking for faithful, detailed and perfectly controllable reproduction, whatever the source being recorded.
Featuring a large electrostatic diaphragm and highly polished electronics, the OC-S10 offers a wide, fast and transparent response, ideal for lead vocals, solo instruments, strings, winds and high-precision acoustic recording. Its very low self-noise level means that even the slightest nuances can be captured without masking details, even on delicate sources or during extensive dynamic processing in post-production.
Flexibility is at the heart of its design. The microphone offers five directly selectable pick-up patterns, as well as an advanced mode using its dual XLR outputs. This architecture makes it possible to record both diaphragms simultaneously and adjust the polar pattern after recording, opening up a wide range of possibilities for mixing and sound design. Three analogue low-cut filters and two levels of integrated attenuation allow the microphone to be adapted to each situation, whether controlling the proximity effect, managing unwanted vibrations or working with high-noise sources.
The Studio Set includes a top-of-the-range suspension system equipped with a ball-and-socket joint, facilitating precise and stable positioning, even in complex configurations. The magnetically attached metal pop filter, using frameless metal foam, is a particularly effective solution for reducing plosives and hiss, without altering frequency response or introducing high-frequency artefacts. This approach improves the fluidity of recording sessions and limits the need for cumbersome corrective treatments.
Manufactured in Vienna to strict quality control standards, the OC-S10 is the microphone of choice for professional studios, high-end production environments and all situations where precision and flexibility are more important than fixed sound signatures.
