Developed by Avantone Pro in collaboration with mixing engineer Chris Lord-Alge, the CLA-10A Limited Edition is an extremely faithful reinterpretation of one of the most iconic studio monitors in recording history. This model retains the sonic DNA that has shaped decades of professional productions, while incorporating modern active amplification and an exclusive finish.

This limited edition is immediately distinguishable by its North American black walnut veneer, adding a more luxurious aesthetic without ever altering the acoustic behaviour of the cabinet. The design remains deliberately sober and functional, faithful to the utilitarian spirit of the original monitor, but with a quality of manufacture and finish far superior to the historic models.

The loudspeakers have been recreated by Avantone with remarkable precision. The AV10-MLF 18 cm woofer and AV10-MHF 3.5 cm soft dome tweeter are the result of extensive engineering work aimed at recreating exactly the response and dynamic behaviour of the original models. The materials have been adapted to today's standards, but the mechanical and acoustic parameters have been scrupulously respected, making it possible for the first time to obtain perfectly matched pairs.

The CLA-10A Limited Edition features 200W Class AB amplification with a linear power supply and toroidal transformer, a conscious choice to preserve the historical sound signature. The Variable Tissue Paper Control (VTPC) adjusts the high-frequency attenuation to simulate the different variants of period monitors, from vertical to horizontal studio models.

Designed first and foremost as a working tool, this loudspeaker highlights mix imbalances, midrange problems and over-processing. It is a formidably effective reference for engineers wishing to guarantee excellent translation of their mixes on all types of listening systems.
