Avantone Pro resurrects the greatness of Gauss!
The Gauss Speaker Company broke new ground with its full-range speakers in the 1970s.
Now Avantone Pro is bringing them back up to date with the Gauss 7s, bringing the richly detailed Gauss sound to everyone.
The 7-inch woofer is derived from the AC10-MLF with a white wood pulp/fibreglass cone common to other products from the brand and reminiscent of the design of the classic Yamaha NS-10s, and the Gauss AMT tweeter is made from a 65mm PET film folded diaphragm.
Switch them on and you'll be surprised by their punchy, incisive sound with excellent transient response and an impressive frequency range for their size, from 30 Hz to 22 kHz.
The stereo image reproduced is incredible, with accurate midrange and a super-wide sweet spot that will allow you to hear the same balance in front of the speakers as you move around.
Finally, the Gauss 7s include powerful yet easy-to-use room optimisation controls.

Avantone's white cone woofer - with a few updates
Like Avantone's AC10-MLF driver, the Gauss 7's 7-inch woofer features an eye-catching white cone made from wood pulp and fibreglass. The pronounced snap and rapid transient response of this driver are reminiscent of Avantone's CLA-10, but with an extra dose of bass. The woofer motor structure features a low-carbon 1008 steel construction, which facilitates maximum-level magnetic flux density between the pole piece and the top plate. In addition, a Japanese-designed unidirectional styrene-butadiene rubber surround optimises the woofer's excursion and power handling. The driver also features a rear-triggered bass port for tight, punchy low-end response down to 30 Hz.
AMT tweeter produces reference-quality high-fidelity sound
Thanks to its high-fidelity GAU-AMT tweeter, the Avantone Pro Gauss 7 delivers incredible detail, with incredible stereo imaging. This Air Motion Transformer (AMT) tweeter produces a small vertical throw that minimises unwanted reflections in the room. Beyond that, the tweeter's 65mm folded polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film diaphragm delivers unrivalled transient response, thanks to its low resonant frequency qualities and low crossover point. You'll also benefit from exceptional high-frequency extension up to 22 kHz. Sweetwater engineers found the Gauss 7 to be an honest sounding speaker with zero frequencies - it's an excellent reference monitor.
Easy room optimisation with acoustic tuning controls
If you're like many you're mixing in a less-than-perfect space, the Gauss 7s include easy-to-use acoustic adjustment controls. A 3-position Acoustic Placement switch makes it easy to optimise the speaker for the limiting spaces in your room; a 3-position High Trim switch compensates for additional room deficiencies. You also get independent gain controls on each driver for easy system calibration.
