Avantone Pro - CV-12

The CV-12 is part of Avantone's Cabernet series, a range renowned for combining particularly robust construction with a resolutely classic approach to sound. Its precision-machined brass body, woven metal grille and polished nickel finish immediately convey a serious studio stance, designed to last and to work every day without compromise.

At the heart of the CV-12 is a tube design based on a military specification 6072A tube, renowned for its low noise and stability. These electronics are combined with a 32mm double-sided capsule with a gold-plated diaphragm, for a sound reproduction that is full, warm and precise, in the spirit of the tube microphones of the 40s, 50s and 60s. The sound reproduction retains great clarity at the top end of the spectrum, rich midrange and a natural bass, without excess or harshness.

The CV-12's versatility is also underpinned by its nine directional patterns, which can be selected from the PS-12 external power supply. This flexibility means you can fine-tune the pick-up to suit the source, whether it's vocals, strings, piano, drum overheads or ambient pick-ups. A high-pass filter at 80 Hz and a -10 dB attenuator complete the package for effective management of powerful sources or environments full of low frequencies.

Supplied with a dedicated power supply, custom-made retro suspension, all the necessary cables and an aluminium flight case, the CV-12 is a complete package ready to be integrated into a professional studio configuration, with an assertive approach to sound and construction designed for the long term.
