Avantone Pro - PS-1

When it comes to recording a voice in a precise and controlled way, managing plosives quickly becomes a critical point. The Avantone PS-1 has been designed to respond to this constraint in a simple and durable way, allowing positioning close to the microphone without the risk of saturating the capsule or damaging the pick-up.

Unlike conventional textile membrane pop filters, the PS-1 uses an acoustically transparent metal screen. This design effectively blocks the air splashes associated with explosive consonants, while allowing high frequencies and transients to pass through. The result is a more natural recording, which retains the detail, presence and intelligibility of the voice, even when working at close range.

The curved shape of the screen has been specifically designed to follow the geometry of studio microphone grids. This approach facilitates positioning in front of the capsule and ensures uniform protection, whether on large-diaphragm microphones or more compact models. The sheathed contour also protects against metal edges, avoiding any risk of injury during frequent handling during sessions.
