B&C Speakers - 12NW76 16 Ohm

In a well-designed loudspeaker system, the choice of bass or low-midrange driver is crucial. It determines the dynamics, the legibility of the mix and the overall balance of the loudspeaker.

The 12NW76 from B&C Speakers meets this need by combining several elements that are rarely found together in the same transducer: a neodymium structure to make it lighter, a 3-inch copper coil to ensure efficient heat dissipation, and a sensitivity of 98 dB, which is rather generous for a model of this size.

With a diameter of 12 inches (315 mm), this loudspeaker is ideally positioned to cover bass and low-midrange frequencies in muscular two-way systems or compact enclosures dedicated to the lower end of the spectrum. It offers a useful response of 40 to 2000 Hz, so it can be crossed high enough if necessary, without disturbing the balance of the loudspeaker.

Mechanically, the diaphragm is supported by an aluminium basket and a compact motor incorporating a neodymium magnet. This design choice considerably reduces the total weight of the unit (around 4.9 kg), without sacrificing power handling.

The 12NW76 is capable of handling up to 500 W continuously, making it ideal for professional environments (stage monitors, mobile loudspeakers or fixed systems).

The magnet kit incorporates an aluminium demodulation ring, helping to reduce harmonic distortion at the top end of the spectrum, while the circuit ventilation ensures effective thermal regulation, limiting the effects of power compression.

This loudspeaker is therefore a good candidate for compact but robust configurations, where the power-to-weight ratio plays a central role.
