The B&C 8FCX51 8+16 Ohm combines two drivers in a smart coaxial format: an 8-inch woofer for bass and midrange, and a central compression driver for high frequencies. This coaxial format provides optimal phase coherence and a single sound source, ideal for near-field sound reinforcement, stage monitors, or discrete fixed systems.

The bass section is equipped with a 51 mm aluminum voice coil mounted on a fiberglass mount and designed to handle up to 500 W continuous power. The waterproof-treated front cone provides greater durability, particularly in protected outdoor installations or harsh environments. With a sensitivity of 96 dB, it delivers an effective sound pressure level, even with moderate amplification.

On the tweeter side, the compression driver incorporates a 44 mm aluminum voice coil and a polyimide diaphragm, renowned for its thermal resistance and flexibility. The 100W power handling and 104dB sensitivity ensure accurate and dynamic reproduction up to 18kHz, with a recommended crossover frequency of 1.8kHz. The 100° dispersion facilitates integration into loudspeakers designed to cover a large audience, without acoustic black spots.

Another practical feature: the impedance is distributed between 8 ohms for the bass section and 16 ohms for the treble section, offering greater flexibility for passive bi-amplified configurations or the use of digital processors.
