B&C Speakers - DE75P 8 Ohm Driver

The DE75P occupies an interesting place in the B&C Speakers range: it is aimed at systems where clarity and projection must remain constant, even when acoustic pressure rises. In a front-of-house system, in a multi-purpose room, on powerful returns or in a large line-array, the motor is the element that determines the legibility of vocals, high-pitched percussion, instrument attacks and the placement of the soundstage in space. The DE75P has been designed to offer a clean, articulate top end, while retaining comfortable mechanical headroom thanks to a 3-inch voice coil.

The titanium diaphragm provides appreciable stability when transients are fast or repetitive. Combined with the high magnetic flux of the ferrite, the result is an energetic response, with no softness in the attacks. This is immediately apparent in the high mids: the message remains precise, even when the system is working close to the general tolerance threshold of the mix. For a technician, this means less correction in equalisation and easier consistency to maintain between the different speakers in a system.

In terms of integration, the DE75P mounts on suitable 2" horns (4-hole M6 ring on 101.6 mm). The recommended crossover frequency (800 Hz minimum) means it can be used with both powerful pro bass transducers and voice-oriented hybrid formats. Its weight is consistent with touring or fixed installation, without excessive stress on the fittings.
