The DE640U 8 Ohm Driver from B&C Speakers is a compression driver with a ring radiator designed to cover a wide range of professional PA applications. Its design is based on a 65 mm coil combined with a polyimide diaphragm, a material renowned for its thermal stability and power handling over time.
This model boasts a high sensitivity of 109dB, enabling high efficiency to be achieved even with moderate amplification power. Its extended frequency response, from 1 kHz to 18 kHz, makes it easy to integrate into compact two-way systems or line array configurations.
The recommended crossover point of 1.2 kHz offers great filtering flexibility, particularly for applications requiring good coherence between the motor and the bass transducer. The behaviour of the annular radiator contributes to more even diffusion at the top end of the spectrum, with accurate reproduction of transients.
The neodymium magnet assembly reduces weight while maintaining a high level of flux. The presence of a copper demodulation ring improves linearity and limits distortion, particularly at high levels.
