BAE Audio 1073 MPF mono, supplied with external power supply. Version with adjustable high-pass filter.
ARTICLE N° 81644
Presentation
The BAE Audio 1073 MPF differs from the 1073 MP by the addition of an adjustable high-pass filter.
It's a 100% Class A hand-wired preamp inspired by the legendary Neve 1073 with classic Carnhill transformers.
The 1073 MPF is offered here in its mono version, with external power supply included.
Since a BAE power supply can be used to power two units, depending on your configuration, you may be able to purchase the 1073 MPF without a power supply to keep costs down.

Ideal for producers and engineers who want to add depth to two-bus mixes or mix preamps and EQs, the BAE 1073MP delivers the inimitable sound of the most iconic preamp ever created.
UNRIVALLED PRECISION
The BAE 1073MPF uses exactly the same circuit design as the original Neve 1073, from the Carnhill transformer-coupled input to the hand-wired Class A design. The BAE 1073MPF captures the same iconic sonic signature and wide bandwidth as the original. Known for its rich lows, edgy highs and focused mids, the 1073 has been used on countless hit records. And now it can be yours, for a fraction of the price.
The BAE 1073MPF also introduces new features for added versatility. A brand-new line input at the rear can be used to process line-level signals - perfect for expanding your mix bus! And with a DI input for passive and active instruments on the front panel, there's no signal that can't benefit from the BAE 1073MP's colourful sound.
CLASSIC CONTROLS
The BAE 1073MPF features a silky-smooth Elma rotary switch and a classic red knob to adjust gain for line and mic levels. On the left, the blue knob controls the high-pass filter, which has a fixed slope of 18dB per octave and is switchable between 50Hz, 80Hz, 160Hz and 300Hz. This gentle musical filter is perfect for everything from removing rumble and background noise from vocal recordings, taming bass drums and cabs, or even switching cymbal mics to high-pass mode to remove drum 'bleed'.
Four pushbuttons provide additional functionality for a wide range of studio applications. The DI button activates the high-impedance instrument input for recording guitars and synths, while the LINE button activates the line-level input.
The 48V button provides phantom power for condenser microphones. The Phase Reverse button reverses the phase of a signal - perfect for recording snare drum mics! Finally, a toggle switch on the right allows you to select a microphone impedance of 1200 or 300 ohms to capture pure sound with any microphone.
FEATURES:
Fully Class A, transformer-coupled design in a 19" 1U chassis.
Inductor-based high-pass filter
Line-level XLR inputs for added versatility as a line preamplifier.
High-impedance DI for guitar and synths
The same Class A components as the 1073 and 1084
Illuminated phase reverse and phantom power buttons
Input impedance selector between 1200 and 300 ohms
The same modular design and manual wiring that have made BAE famous.
The regulated linear power supply can power up to four channels.
