ARTICLE N° 73703
The octave pedals of the last decade have presented guitarists and bassists with a difficult decision: are you looking for that classic OC-2 octave effect - the sound most of us guitarists and bassists associate with the octave pedal - to add weight to your leads and marching lines? Or do you want modern tracking and polyphonic capabilities to help flesh out chords in a solo setting? With the BOSS OC-5 Octave Pedal, you don't have to choose. Whether it's a thunderous mono sub-bass or string root reinforcement, the OC-5 has you covered. The OC-5 features an all-new tracking engine based on BOSS FX boards. The result is one of the smoothest, least latent octave effects you'll ever experience. In addition to the classic -1 and -2 octave controls, the OC-5 gives you a +1 octave wheel to achieve false 12-string textures and screaming classic lead lines. A dedicated instrument switch lets you tailor the OC-5's tracking for electric/acoustic guitar or bass, while a parallel Direct Out dry path preserves your input signal for routing to a dedicated amp or PA. If you've been waiting for the next evolution of the BOSS Octave sound, the OC-5 is where it's at.

Extended range with Octave-Up
The new Octave-Up effect is a useful new feature of the OC-5, available in Vintage and Poly modes. Simply turn the dedicated +1 OCT knob to obtain the desired effect level. You can use the Octave-Up effect as a solo for a 12-string guitar effect or a variety of solo sounds, or mix it with Octave-Down effects for extended chord voicings and fat leads.

Guitar/bass switch and Direct out
The OC-5 lets you instantly optimise the performance of the detection system for guitar or bass via a dedicated switch on the pedal. And thanks to the Direct Out, it's easy to route dry and effected sounds to different destinations, such as two different amps or two different channels on a mixer.
