Ultra-fast BOSS wireless technology
Featuring high-performance wireless technology developed for the Katana-Air wireless guitar amp, the WL-50 delivers exceptional sound quality over a wide range of frequencies. Operating on a frequency of 2.4 GHz, the optimum channel is selected automatically to ensure stable performance without loss or clipping. And with ultra-low latency of 2.3 ms, you can play without worrying about lag. Up to 14 BOSS wireless systems can be used simultaneously in the same space, allowing all the musicians in your band to enjoy the freedom of wireless.
A new pedal among others
The WL-50 takes up slightly less space than a compact BOSS pedal, and can be powered in the same way as your other pedals, making it easy to integrate into a pedalboard. Simply place it at the beginning of the chain and connect the output of the receiver to the first pedal. The receiver also has a 1/4" jack input, so you can use a traditional guitar cable if you need to.
Integrated transmitter dock
The WL-50 has a built-in dock for charging the transmitter and establishing the wireless connection. The system takes up very little space, even when the transmitter is plugged in: it's the same height as a compact BOSS pedal.
Plug in and play
Once you've installed your WL-50 into your pedalboard and loaded the transmitter, it's as easy to use as a standard guitar cable. Plug the transmitter into the receiver, wait about ten seconds, then plug the transmitter into your instrument. That's all there is to it! The optimum wireless connection is established automatically, without any user intervention.
Cable sound simulation
The WL-50 offers two cable sound simulation options, which reproduce the natural capacitance effect produced by a guitar cable on the instrument's passive pickups. You can also set the effect to bypass if you don't need cable simulation, for example when using an electro-acoustic guitar with a built-in preamp or an instrument with active pickups.
Power distribution
When the receiver is powered by a BOSS PSA-S power adapter, it becomes a power distribution centre for your other pedals. Using an optional PCS-20A daisy-chain cable, you can power multiple BOSS compact pedals at once.
Battery operation for unrestricted playing
For street gigs or other mobile situations, battery power is a great option. The WL-50's receiver can run for up to ten hours on two AA batteries, allowing you to play wirelessly in any situation. However, when running on batteries, the receiver cannot recharge the transmitter. But don't worry: you can still charge the transmitter using a standard USB adapter (5 V/500 mA or more), the same one you use for your smartphone or tablet.
