Although it's capable of moderate crunches, the Wave Cannon MKII is primarily there to supercharge your amp and, because every guitarist has been frustrated at least once by classic pedals that sounded great but didn't push amps that were too clean far enough, it has a LOT of gain and volume available.

The Focus setting hollows out, flattens or increases the midrange, while Rumble increases the bass available in the circuit and is particularly useful with moderate gains.
