Morley - Tel-Ray Reissue Volume Boost

The Morley Tel-Ray Reissue Volume Boost is a volume and boost pedal for electric guitar from the Tel-Ray Revival Series. Its optical circuit, which does not use potentiometers that are prone to wear and tear, prevents the crackling sounds associated with mechanical wear. The progressive audio curve spreads the volume increase across the entire range of the pedal’s travel, creating a violin-like effect that allows notes to emerge gently, without a sharp attack.

The boost, up to +40 dB, is activated by foot to make a solo stand out in the mix. The circuit remains operational in volume-only mode, without boost. The silent switching protects delicate passages from any unwanted clicks, and the LED indicates the boost status in dimly lit venues. Beneath your foot, the cold-rolled steel casing withstands the rigours of transport and live performance. Its chrome finish evokes the aesthetic of vintage models, whilst the pedal’s phosphorescent surface remains visible in the dark.

This reissue of a 1970s Tel-Ray features a more compact design than the original, measuring 174 x 114 x 82.5 mm, and a raised base that sits higher than neighbouring pedals on a pedalboard, so you can find it by feel without looking. Power is supplied by a 9 V battery or a 9 V mains adaptor (sold separately). Morley launched its electro-optical volume and wah-wah pedals in 1974, followed by smaller models in 1984. The Tel-Ray Reissue continues this lineage today.
