The Cayin IHA-8 Black is a headphone amplifier designed for users seeking a device capable of driving a wide variety of hi-fi headphones and earphones. Its symmetrical, pure Class A architecture combines two Toshiba JFET transistors configured in a dual-parallel arrangement per channel with a MOSFET output stage to optimise signal reproduction.
The power supply is based on a 70 W toroidal transformer combined with a current capacity of 50,000 μF. This design aims to provide a stable power supply and respond effectively to the dynamic variations in music. With an output power of up to 9,500 mW into 16 ohms in balanced mode, the Cayin IHA-8 Black is suitable for both demanding headphones and highly sensitive models thanks to its adjustable gain.
The connectivity includes three headphone outputs: a 6.35 mm jack, a 4.4 mm balanced jack and a balanced XLR. On the rear panel, the RCA and XLR inputs can be configured for line level or high level to facilitate integration with various audio sources or an external preamplifier.
Volume control is provided by an ALPS potentiometer combined with a dual electronic controller for precise adjustment whilst minimising noise introduction into the audio signal.
