D'Angelico - Deluxe Bedford Matte Walnut

The Matte Walnut doesn’t seek the limelight; it elegantly ignores it. This satin finish transforms the Offset model into an almost tactile object, with a texture that appeals to the hand as much as the ear, a far cry from overly flashy gloss finishes.
The top, sides and back are crafted from alder, a wood that lends the bass notes a rounded quality without adding excess weight. The three-piece maple neck, assembled using the glued set-neck method, transmits vibrations from the body to the headstock with a continuity that can be felt beneath the fingers. The ebony fingerboard, with a radius of 355.6 mm, guides the player’s touch across the 22 Jescar nickel-silver frets, whilst the Tusq nut ensures perfect intonation from the very first notes across a scale length of 628.65 mm.
The two Seymour Duncan P90 Stack pickups, positioned at the neck and bridge, deliver punchy mid-range tones and bass that retains its texture, without the unwanted hum that plagues too many single-coil pickups. The three-position Blade Switch and the controls (1 volume, 1 tone) are designed for ease of use, not complexity.
The Wilkinson Six-Point vibrato handles dynamic variations without throwing the tuning off, held in place by Grover 509 Super Rotomatic locking tuners. The F-hole-style tortoise pickguard lends a subtle visual identity, and the Deluxe hard case accompanies the instrument from the studio to the stage, from mellow blues to indie rock.
