as one of Mark Whitfield’s artistic high points. This album perfectly illustrates his ability to blend technical virtuosity with musical sensitivity. It features, in particular, a remarkable rendition of ‘Harlem Nocturne’, regularly cited as one of his finest performances. Unlike many guitarists who prioritise technical display, Whitfield always puts musicality first. His elegant phrasing, precise touch and harmonic mastery enable him to create rich improvisations without ever losing their melodic character. This approach has earned him the respect of both the public and specialist critics.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
