Presentation
The warm grain of solid mahogany sets the tone for the D’Angelico Premier Tammany LS, available in a Mahogany Satin finish as part of the New York-based brand’s entry-level acoustic collection. The laminated mahogany top, sides and back form an OM-style body without a cutaway, measuring 381.00 mm wide and 82.55 mm deep at the upper side, 101.60 mm at the lower side — a size tailored for singer-songwriters and accompaniment. The long scale length of 647.70 mm (25.5") spans D’Addario EXP-16 (12-53) strings beneath X-Scalloped bracing and a triple-ring ABS rosette.
The Mahogany Scarf neck, with a C-shaped profile and satin finish, is joined to the body via a dovetail joint and widens from 20 mm at the first fret to 22 mm at the twelfth. Its Torrefied Merbau fingerboard, with a radius of 304.80 mm (12"), features twenty Medium Jumbo frets beneath pearlescent acrylic dot inlays, complemented by side markers. A 42.86 mm wide PPS nut marks the start of the fingerboard, whilst a double-action truss rod is adjustable from the soundhole, beneath an Aluminium Skyscraper plate. Single-ply binding on the headstock and fingerboard, and three-ply binding on the body, frame the instrument, beneath a satin-finished standard-shaped headstock engraved with the D’Angelico New York and Premier Shield logos in acrylic.
The Torrefied Merbau bridge, in a Stairstep design, and its PPS bridge pins maintain tuning alongside the Stairstep Wave tuning machines and strap buttons, all finished in chrome. The D’Angelico MG-30 on-board preamp and tuner controls the EQ and volume, feeding the signal to a standard mono jack. With no pickguard or gig bag, weighing 4.11 kg and catalogued as DAPLSOMMAHCP, this guitar is made in Indonesia.

Spotlight on
D'Angelico is a New York brand of electric guitars that has existed since 1938. First went unnoticed because the guitars were manufactured only by hand in a very small workshop by two luthiers; it is in 2011, at a show at the New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, that D'Angelico is noticed. Since then, D'Angelico guitars have been a real success thanks to their quality of manufacture and their price.
