Subwoofer

A passive bass reflex subwoofer with a 12" driver, the EV Sb122 is a compact, lightweight subwoofer designed to enhance the low frequencies of Sx and Zx series speakers. It combines the advantages of a long-throw 12" woofer with a solid, lightweight composite enclosure that weighs just 15 kg and delivers up to 1600 watts peak power at 8 ohms, for a maximum SPL of 31 dB!

The EVS12SB cast-frame transducer created for the Sb122 uses the same motor and suspension design as the EVS18S used in EV's larger systems.

The large vent provides less compression and vent turbulence for increased low-frequency output.

With nearly two inches of peak-to-peak excursion capability, this is literally a twelve-inch with the heart of an eighteen.

An integrated low-pass filter allows the Sb122 to be directly connected in parallel with a full-range loudspeaker for a truly impressive low-end output without the need for an additional amplifier and processor.

The crossover is transparent below 160 Hz, allowing the Sb122 to be used as an independent subwoofer in bi-amplified applications without the need to disable the internal crossover.

For maximum output in bi-amplified applications and protection of the broadband system when operating in parallel, a 40Hz high-pass (subsonic) crossover is recommended.
