Presentation
The black EMG TA pickup set embodies Tom Araya's signature sound. This pack combines two active pickups equipped with ceramic magnets, well calibrated for 4 or 5-string narrow basses. Each pickup boosts the frequency response for a balanced tone with effortless clarity.
The 35DC configuration in the bridge position delivers a solid attack, while the 35J on the neck moderates with controlled warmth. The 9-volt battery power supply ensures consistency of tone, even at high intensity. The solderless system makes for easy installation and avoids any electrical complications.
The set includes all the components needed for simple installation, with appropriate cables and connectors. Background noise remains minimal, leaving room for pure musicality, even in the most dynamic passages.
Whether you're playing slap or fingerstyle, these EMG pickups deliver precise definition without overpowering nuance. The choice of ceramic magnets confirms the desire to achieve a powerful tone that fits naturally into a tight mix. This set is ideal for rock or metal bass.

Tom Araya, born in Chile in 1961 and raised in California, is the iconic singer and bassist of Slayer, one of thrash metal's "Big Four". A founding member of the band in 1981, he stands out for his aggressive voice, intense stage presence and precision bass playing. Araya co-wrote several major tracks, including War Ensemble and Dead Skin Mask. Contrary to the band's sombre image, he is known for his calm demeanour backstage. He is also a qualified medical technician. Since the end of Slayer in 2019, he has led a discreet life, far from the music industry.
