EMG's 5-string MMCS is a pickup for those who want a real response. Each string passes through the sieve of its C/S magnets.
The harmonic structure remains stable even when played intensively. Nothing spills over and everything remains under control. The pickup stays in line. It pushes without saturating and takes it all in without flinching. 2 volts nominal output, 4.5 volts maximum. The active circuit stabilises everything. Autonomy climbs to 3000 hours with a single 9V battery. And for the greedy, 18V adds headroom.
Everything is connected without soldering: cables, pots, jack and power supply. Everything is ready to go, right down to the battery holder. You assemble, you play. This EMG model for 5-string bass is based on the Music Man format. It fits wide strings, up to 63.5 mm. There's no need for grounding.
