When Empress Effects released their Compresor in 2011, it quickly became a favourite with guitarists and bassists looking for something more than the simplistic settings typical of most compression pedals. Although the original Compressor sounds great on bass, they wanted to do better!

In addition to the features and controls normally found on high-end studio compressors, such as a visual gain and input reduction monitor, independent attack and release controls, a Mix control for parallel compression and an external sidechain insert, we've added a sidechain filter and a 2-position Tone+Colour circuit for fine-tuning the sound and adding harmonic distortion, to give your bass even more character.
