Presentation
The Classic White finish, applied with an Aged Gloss varnish, doesn't just emphasise the SG's clean, aggressive lines; it tells a story. It conjures up images of legendary rock stages, recalling times when these bright white instruments were waved like banners of musical rebellion. This aged patina isn't just aesthetic; it adds character and soul, as if each mark and shade tells a story of fiery concerts and passionate recording sessions.
The two-piece solid mahogany body is the beating heart of this guitar, providing the deep, rich resonance that is the hallmark of the SG. Mahogany imparts a warmth and fullness of sound, ensuring that every note played is enveloped in an enveloping and expressive sound quality. It's the foundation on which this guitar's unique sound character is built.
The one-piece mahogany neck with SlimTaper C profile is a tribute to ergonomics and playability. This, combined with a 24.75" scale, Indian laurel fingerboard with a 12" radius, and 22 Medium Jumbo frets, makes this guitar incredibly comfortable to play, whether you're ripping through a solo or tackling complex chords. The single-ply cream fingerboard binding and pearloid trapezoid markers add a touch of visual elegance, while the Graph Tech saddle ensures precise intonation and enhanced sustain.
Gibson BurstBucker 2 and 3 pickups, positioned in the neck and bridge respectively, are the secret to this guitar's tonal versatility. Inspired by the legendary PAF pickups, they capture the essence of '60s rock 'n' roll, offering a range of sounds from warm, mellow whispers to distortion-laden screams. CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors allow precise manipulation of volume and tone, offering a wide range of sonic options to explore.
Nickel hardware, including an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stop Bar tailpiece and Epiphone Deluxe tuners, ensure that the guitar remains stable and reliable, no matter how hard you play. The black 5-ply pickguard not only protects the finish, but adds a distinctive visual touch, highlighting the overall aesthetics of the instrument.
Delivered in a Vintage Style Hardshell Case, the Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard Aged Classic White is ready to hit the road, offering musicians an instrument capable not only of capturing the spirit of a bygone era, but also of inspiring the creation of new music. It's a bridge to the past, and a springboard to the future of music.
