With the nEar i7, ESI Audiotechnik is offering a monitoring loudspeaker that fits naturally between the compactness of the nEar i5 and the larger format of the nEar i8. This 6.5-inch model is aimed at users who want to increase their presence at the lower end of the spectrum while retaining a close listening experience suitable for medium-sized workspaces. The objective remains clear: to provide a reliable reference for mixing, editing and music production.

The design is based on an active two-way architecture, driven by DSP and combined with Class D amplification. The 6.5-inch bass driver uses a paper fibre cone selected for its rigidity and controlled response, while the 1-inch silk dome tweeter ensures smooth, accurate high-frequency reproduction. This combination results in a more present low-midrange and a more pronounced extension of the bass, without any loss of legibility.

Integrated DSP processing helps to maintain a balanced and consistent response across the entire spectrum. The bass and treble equalisation settings, accessible in stages, make it easy to adapt the speaker to the acoustics of the room or its positioning. The sound character selector allows you to switch from a Mix & Listen mode, more tolerant of prolonged listening, to a more analytical Reference mode, useful during critical work phases.

The bass reflex load with front port allows installation relatively close to walls, an important consideration in home studios. Balanced and unbalanced inputs ensure extensive compatibility with audio interfaces and monitoring controllers. An LED indicator provides clear information about operating status, standby mode or possible signal overload.
