DAW Controllers

The Xjam is a compact MIDI controller designed for rhythm creation, finger drumming and live performance. It combines pressure-sensitive pads, rotary encoders and programming flexibility in an easy-to-carry format.

ARTICLE N° 116818
With the Xjam, ESI Audiotechnik offers a MIDI controller designed for musicians and producers who work with rhythm, performance and real-time control. Its small size and aluminium chassis make it easy to carry around, while retaining a robust feel for intensive use, whether in the studio, on the move or on stage.

The playing surface is based on a matrix of 16 pads arranged in a 4 × 4 arrangement, each sensitive to velocity and featuring polyphonic aftertouch. This combination makes it possible to play drums, virtual instruments or samples with a high level of expressivity, each pad being able to react to pressure independently. Multicoloured LED indicators provide clear visual feedback when playing, editing or changing settings.

In addition to the pads, the Xjam features six endless rotary encoders that can be assigned to a wide range of parameters. They can send MIDI CC messages, programme changes, pitch data or even aftertouch, opening up a wide range of possibilities for controlling synthesizers, effects or functions internal to a DAW. Access to 48 storable scenes allows complex set-ups to be prepared and recalled instantly, a significant advantage for live performances or fast-paced production sessions.

The controller operates via USB-C and requires no external power supply. It can be used with a computer, tablet or smartphone, and can even be used as a stand-alone device to control external MIDI equipment thanks to its 3.5 mm TRS MIDI output. There's also a pedal input for extended control when playing or sequencing. The package is completed by dedicated editing software, making it easy to adapt the Xjam to each workflow.

Compatible with the majority of audio workstations and MIDI applications, the Xjam integrates naturally into music production, DJing and live performance environments. The software supplied allows you to get started straight away, without any complex configuration, whether you're programming beats, controlling virtual instruments or building dynamic performances.
