The FiiO K13 R2R Black is designed for those who wish to take a decisive step forward in the quality of their listening experience at the office. Its R2R architecture is based on 192 precision resistors spread across four channels, a fully passive design that reproduces the audio signal with a naturalness and consistency that conventional chip-based DACs struggle to match.
Power is certainly not in short supply: 2,400 mW per channel at 32 ohms via the balanced output allows for uncompromising drive of both sensitive in-ear monitors and demanding planar magnetic headphones. Three distinct gain levels ensure precise adaptation to each transducer.
Versatility is another key strength of this compact unit: two USB-C ports, an optical input, a coaxial input and Bluetooth 5.4 with LDAC cover all modern sources. The dual RCA outputs and variable-level XLR output even allow it to be integrated as a preamplifier into an existing hi-fi system.
