Presentation
Recording an acoustic guitar with a conventional magnetic pickup often means having to contend with strident hiss at 5 kHz or muddy bass, but the Fishman Fluence Acoustic Spotlight tackles this problem head-on. Its Fluence Core technology removes the copper winding, the main source of these unwanted acoustic artefacts. So you get the real timbre of your instrument: full-bodied bass, defined mids and crystal-clear highs, without that ear-weary metallic edge. That's the difference between 'wired' sound and 'acoustic' sound.
The TRS stereo output is your ally here. You can send Voice 1 (natural, balanced sound) on one channel, and Voice 2 (brighter, more present) on another. In your recording software, you mix the two tracks to create a wide stereo image, or you use Voice 2 as a boost for a solo passage. It's a flexibility you don't get with a single-output mic.
The installation is non-invasive and fits most guitars with a rosette between 95 and 102 mm. You don't need to be a luthier. Just attach it with the included double-sided adhesive tape, plug in your jack cable, and you're done. The included 9V battery gives you 70 hours of playing time, and a lithium battery can extend that to 160 hours - enough to make you forget about this technical detail for months.
