The Foxgear Double Decker MK II is a tube distortion pedal that offers a sonic palette inspired by the Marshall amps modified by Jose Arredondo. Featuring two independent channels, each with its own volume, gain, tone and presence settings, it lets you explore a variety of textures, from light crunch to more pronounced saturation.
Each channel has a 'Jose/Normal' switch that activates a separate clipping section: germanium diodes for channel 1 and symmetrical LEDs for channel 2. This configuration offers additional nuances, from gentle distortion to more compressed sounds.
The pedal operates from a 12V DC power supply (300mA) and uses a 9ECC83/12AX7 lamp, with the option of using ECC81, ECC82 or ECC83 models. It has an input impedance ≤1M Ohm and an output impedance ≤10K Ohm.
With its compact dimensions, the Double Decker MK II fits easily on a pedalboard. Its design also allows the order of the channels to be reversed or used separately via effects loops, providing appreciable flexibility of use.
