Presentation
With the JS-400 Coral Red, Jet Guitars has created an electric guitar that radiates fire right down to its finish. The ST body shape remains true to this classic design that every guitarist recognises at a glance, from the pit to the back of the hall.
The roasted poplar body is no mere coincidence: the roasting process removes moisture from the fibres and opens up the grain, resulting in a full-bodied bass response without adding excess weight. The roasted Canadian maple neck follows the same principle, ensuring stability from one venue to the next.
The 647.7 mm (25.5-inch) scale length keeps the strings taut and responsive, whilst the fingerboard – made from roasted maple or rosewood depending on the finish – and its 241.3 mm (9.5-inch) radius invite tight riffs and sweeping bends. The Modern C neck profile and 41.9 mm (1.65-inch) nut width fit comfortably in the palm across all 22 frets, secured by the dual-action truss rod.
In terms of pickups, the ceramic HSS configuration provides a warm foundation at the neck and two biting single-coils at the bridge, covering everything from raw blues to edgier rock. The 5-position selector switch, along with a volume and tone control, opens up the sound palette at the flick of a switch.
The vibrato bridge adds crisp dive-ins to the mix. The chrome hardware, including the tuning machines, gives the JS-400 a crisp, clean look, whilst the bone or polymer fibre nut (since 2025) transmits the vibration of the strings to the neck with precision.
The white pickguard provides a striking contrast against the Coral Red finish, complemented by the solid body and torrefied wood.
