Jet Guitars JS 407 Matt Black The Jet Guitars JS-407 MBK is a 7-string guitar designed for uncompromising bass tones: body, neck and fingerboard made entirely from torrefied wood, a scale length of 673.1 mm (26.5″) for superb string tension on the seventh string, and a black-covered ceramic HH pickup configuration that delivers a crisp attack. A single volume control, nothing superfluous. Modern metal has found its instrument.

Presentation
The Jet Guitars JS-407 MBK doesn’t set out to appeal to everyone — and that’s precisely what makes it credible. The Matt Black finish with matt black hardware creates a completely monochrome look, a visual consistency that clearly signals the genre this instrument is designed for: progressive metal, djent, doom — anything that demands low-end, power and a cool head.
The choice of a roasted poplar body is worth a closer look. Poplar, often underestimated, delivers a focused, neutral tone that doesn’t colour the signal — something the ceramic pickups already do very well on their own. Roasting hardens the wood’s grain, reduces moisture absorption and enhances the transmission of vibrations to the pickups. It’s a choice that makes perfect sense from start to finish. The Modern C-profile neck, crafted from roasted Canadian maple with a nut width of 48 mm, provides ample space for the fingers across seven strings without requiring an athletic grip — the 241.3 mm (9.5″) maintains a gentle curve that suits both chords and melodic lines high up on the neck. The 24 rosewood frets extend the high register far beyond the usual territory of distorted rhythm playing.
The dual-action truss rod allows for precise adjustment in both directions — essential on a scale length of 673.1 mm (26.5″) where string tension is high and seasonal variations are noticeable. The black tuning machines and the bone/polymer fibre nut lock in the tuning upstream, whilst the fixed bridge does the rest downstream. The ceramic HH pickup configuration delivers a defined attack and dynamics that cut through the mix without artificial compression. A single volume control. Everything you need, nothing more.
