The M1 Actif from LR Baggs fits directly into the rosette of your folk guitar and quickly changes the way the instrument reacts when amplified. This is no ordinary magnetic pickup. It picks up both the strings and some of the vibrations from the soundboard, giving a more lively sound, less 'electric' in the cold sense of the word.

The principle is based on a special humbucker design. The second coil, usually dedicated solely to eliminating unwanted noise, also contributes to the signal. Result: the sound remains silent, but gains in depth. You can hear the body of the guitar better, attacks are more natural, and nuances come through better when you play arpeggios or dynamics.
