ARTICLE N° 118806
The Martin O'ahu HG-28 is a folk guitar that pays tribute to the Hawaiian musical heritage of the 1920s and 1930s, a key period in the evolution of modern acoustic guitars. Inspired by the vintage models of the period, it adopts a 14-fret sloped-shoulder format, combining the sonic power of a dreadnought with the depth and comfort of a 000 body. This design makes it a versatile guitar for players looking for a balanced instrument that's fun to play.

The solid spruce top adds clarity and projection, while the flamed Hawaiian koa back and sides add warmth and richness to the tone. The satin finish brings out the natural grain of the wood, enhanced by antique white binding and herringbone bindings reminiscent of guitars from the Golden Age. The short-scale mahogany neck with Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile ensures a fluid grip and low action, ideal for chording or fingerstyle playing.

Designed with comfort in mind, the HG-28 lends itself equally well to standard tunings and to the open tunings typical of the Hawaiian slack key style, such as the open G. Its balanced sound and refined aesthetic appeal will appeal as much to vintage enthusiasts as to modern musicians in search of an inspiring instrument.

The ebony fingerboard is a pleasure to play, and the imitation tortoiseshell pickguard adds a touch of style. Supplied with a soft case, the Martin O'ahu HG-28 is ready to accompany the guitarist on all his musical adventures, in the studio or on stage, while perpetuating the spirit of the Hawaiian guitars that made history.
