Martinez - MC-18 Toledo 3/4 + Housse

A small hand closes around the neck of the Martinez MC-18 Toledo ¾ and finds the frets without having to search far. With a scale length of 610 mm (24.02"), this classical guitar reduces the distance between the frets, so that the first chords can be played without stretching the fingers. Its ¾ size is therefore ideal for growing pupils, from children to young teenagers.

The okoumé neck, glued to the body, remains stable and feels light in the hand. The laminated spruce top and the laminated sapelli back and sides are resistant to knocks and fluctuations in humidity in a bedroom or classroom, whilst the tone retains a clear, woody mid-range. The 52 mm (2.05") nut spaces the strings in the traditional manner, helping the left hand get used to the correct spacing. The satin finish ensures the body remains soft to the touch.

Martinez traces its roots back to Germany in 1978 and has been manufacturing in Guangzhou, China, since 2005, with the American luthier Kenny Hill as technical advisor. This European and American heritage, combined with Chinese craftsmanship, explains why the MC-18 Toledo ¾ has accompanied so many students and families over several seasons, from their first scales right through to the transition to the 4/4 size.
