Originally released in 1974, the D&S Distortion & Sustainer gives the same smooth, compressed fuzz effect for which vintage Big Muffs are famous. Yet where Muffs tend to cover up the original signal, the D&S retains more of the original grit and feel of your instrument and amp. Using hand-selected low-noise transistors, it actually offers more gain than a vintage Black & Red, but with a lower noise floor.
