Presentation
The MuxLab 500454 PoE RX is used to recover an HDMI signal transported over a network using HDBaseT technology. It works with the transmitter of the same series to transmit a video source over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable, while retaining remote control.
In practice, you can send a 4K signal up to 40 metres in Cat5e/6, or up to 70 metres in 1080p. The transmission remains transparent, with no special settings required on the user's side, simplifying installation in an existing system.
The video signal is accompanied by control data. The RS232 enables remote control of a screen or projector, and the bidirectional IR lets commands pass in both directions. There's no need to run extra lines to manage the equipment.
Power is supplied via the network using PoE and PoC. A single cable is all that's needed between the transmitter and receiver for the signal and the power supply, making the installation much simpler.
Connections include an HDMI output, an RJ45 port for the network link, a DB9 port for RS232 and two 3.5 mm jacks for IR. The whole system is easy to install in a rack or behind a screen without complex configuration.
