Novastar - SFP 40G Multimode 850 nm

In an LED infrastructure, the choice of optical module depends directly on the distance to be covered and the type of fibre available. The NovaStar 40G Multimode 850 nm SFP is the solution designed for short-range multimode fibre links, with a 40G transmission capacity suited to NovaStar architectures requiring greater bandwidth to handle large volumes of display data.

This module is designed for the NovaStar 5GB platform and can be installed on CX series processors, such as the CX40 and CX80. Its high data rate supports systems capable of driving a large number of pixels and ensures an optical link suited to the transmission requirements of next-generation LED installations.

Multimode technology is particularly suitable when the connected equipment is located within the same infrastructure or at a relatively short distance. The SFP achieves a maximum range of 100 metres and operates at a wavelength of 850 nm. This configuration allows the use of multimode fibre links suitable for the specified distances, with an LC connector that is widely used in fibre infrastructures.

The module is installed directly into a compatible 40G SFP slot. Its hot-swappable design is an advantage during maintenance operations, as it is possible to work on the module without having to reconfigure the entire connection chain. Connection also remains straightforward thanks to the use of fibre-optic cables fitted with compatible LC connectors.
