The Pearl Decade Maple DMP905C-262 is a 100% maple drum kit developed to deliver real pro sound at a controlled price.
Its 5.4 mm EvenPly-Six drums are made from six carefully selected layers of maple. This relatively thin thickness enhances resonance and responsiveness. The SST construction guarantees rigidity, stability and machining precision. The 45° chamfer ensures precise contact with the headstock and facilitates tuning.
The 20 "x16" bass drum delivers a defined low end, with good articulation in the mix. The 10 "x7" and 12 "x8" toms offer a clean attack and a rapid rise in pitch. The 14 "x14" floor tom retains body without becoming overpowering. The matching 14 "x5.5" snare offers a clear response that can be used in a wide range of styles.
The Opti-Loc system limits stress points on the toms to preserve their natural vibration. NDL mini-shells reduce the weight attached to the barrel. Uni-Lock arms allow precise adjustment of the toms' angle. Remo UT heads provide a good basis for using the kit right from the outset.
This configuration is just as suitable for an up-and-coming drummer as it is for a musician looking for a reliable secondary kit. The Decade Maple remains one of the rare all-maple series in this price range, with a very attractive level of craftsmanship.
