PMC - 8 Sub

In a monitoring environment, the addition of a subwoofer is not simply a matter of lowering the frequency range. It's about maintaining the coherence of the system while extending its ability to reproduce low frequencies accurately. The PMC 8 Sub has been designed with this in mind, integrating naturally with existing PMC systems.

This model is based on an 8-inch long-excursion driver combined with proprietary ATL technology. Unlike conventional bass-reflex loads, this approach delivers a more progressive bass response, with more linear and controlled behaviour. The result is a more legible low end, with no distortion or artificial emphasis.

The 300 W Class D amplification provides the necessary reserve to reproduce low frequencies with stability, even at high levels. The objective is not just power, but above all the ability to maintain a precise and rapid response, essential in a mixing context.

The PMC 8 Sub can be used in a variety of ways. In a conventional configuration, it complements a stereo or multichannel system by providing an extension to the lowest frequencies. It can also be integrated into an XBD system, in association with certain PMC loudspeakers, to create a coherent full-range ensemble.

The integrated DSP plays a central role in this integration. It allows the subwoofer's behaviour to be fine-tuned to suit the room and the system. Functions include filtering, parametric equalisation, delay adjustment and phase management. These tools enable the subwoofer to be aligned with the main speakers, avoiding low-frequency mismatches and imbalances.

The SoundAlign interface makes configuration and control easy. Accessible via a network, it allows subwoofer parameters to be managed individually or in groups, which is particularly useful in multichannel or immersive installations.
