Neumann - KH 810 II
The Neumann KH 810 II expands the playground of demanding studios by taking bass deep into the spectrum, with measured extension down to 16 Hz and multi-channel management calibrated for surround and immersive sound up to 7.1.4. Designed as a natural companion to medium-sized KH monitors, this active studio subwoofer uses Class D amplification and a 10" driver to deliver a surgically precise response. DSP control, MA 1 compatibility, flexible bass management, multiple routings and adjustable phase complete an arsenal designed for the modern engineer. Designed in the Czech Republic, the KH 810 II is a centrepiece capable of combining power, finesse and control, a bit like a conductor with the keys to the sonic basement.
Presentation
Where the Sub KH 810 II really makes a difference is with its integrated DSP engine, which allows you to precisely align your system and exploit the MA 1 calibration, so you can correct the response of your room and obtain a coherent result, whether your main listening is digital or analogue. It's a real technical safety net for working with confidence, even in imperfect acoustic environments. Engineers who have already had a taste of this precision know just how much it changes their relationship to the mix.
Beyond the DSP, Neumann has designed the KH 810 II as a real hub. With its 80 Hz, external, LFE 120 Hz or full range routing modes, it can be easily integrated into a variety of set-ups, from a high-end home studio to a broadcast post-production booth. Add to that ultra-detailed phase management (from 0° to 135°, plus inversion), and you've got a tool that leaves nothing to chance. Every adjustment becomes a brick in the edifice of your monitoring.
In terms of power, its Class D amplification feeds a 10" driver with firm, precise control, capable of reaching 109dB SPL without slipping. The bass reflex design with front vents ensures smooth bass delivery, even when the sub is placed close to a wall. This gives you the freedom to arrange your space without compromising the quality of your monitoring, which is rare in this category of tools.
The KH 810 II fits in naturally with the KH 150 or KH 310 monitors, forming sets calibrated for working on complex, immersive mixes. Its role is not simply to add bass, but to structure the sound image, make every detail more legible and give the certainty that what you hear in the control room will correspond in real life. In other words, this subwoofer acts as an artistic safeguard: it reveals intentions, highlights errors and makes every decision more conscious.
