Bass Effects

The BDI-1 Brick Drive uses the Vitalizer B circuit in the input section, this is a Buffer that converts high impedance signals that can degrade sound quality by picking up noise or losing higher frequencies into a low impedance signal that is less likely to be affected by these problems. It's an active impedance converter that Providence invented to ensure that the sound isn't too Hi-Fi while respecting the sonic character and signal quality of instruments and effects pedals. It delivers a natural sound faithful to the instrument using a special circuit that minimises grain changes. The result is punchy distortion with a big low-end similar to what you'd expect from a big, hard-powered amp stack. Gain and tone controls allow you to dial in anything from natural crunch to fuzzy, dirty distortion, offering a wide spectrum of sounds that can add new dimensions to your music.

The BDI-1 Brick Drive delivers a crisper, clearer sound by tightening the bottom end, which tends to be fuzzy with most other processors and effects.
In addition, the VZ THRU output sends the signal that has passed through the Vitalizer B circuit and converted to a low impedance signal.
It can be used as a parallel output for connection to other pedals or tuners.

With carefully selected quality parts and a circuit structure specifically designed for bass, it offers more expressive power with low noise. The internal operating voltage is increased to 21V for a higher dynamic range.

By mixing drive and clean sound via the preamp's EQ, it transforms and adds nuance to saturated sound.
The fullness of the sound is maintained by adding the unaffected clean sound via the mix knob.
What's more, adding a little but of gain to the clean sound results in a huge, thick wall of bass sound.
The mix control allows you to create a variety of sound settings from a little edge to full aggressive distortion.

The EQ section is based on the Dual Bass Station circuit, treble, midrange, bass and we've added a presence control for even more control over your sound. Presence controls harmonics and accentuates the contour of the sound.

Loaded with balanced output for greater flexibility in live and recording environments. Ground Lift switch prevents ground loop noise from other units.

Mini toggle switch selects mode when pedal is bypassed.
When Bypass mode is selected, it delivers a direct sound that bypasses the Vitalizer B circuit.
Mute mode is ideal for use when the player is changing or adjusting instruments.

It is optimised for bass and 7/8 string guitars with their lower frequency range.
