Paul Reed Smith and Mark Holcomb, the talented guitarist from Periphery and Haunted Shores, have updated the guitarist's signature model with this new generation. Featuring the classic recipe: mahogany body with quilted maple top, maple neck topped by an ebony fingerboard, 20" radius, this new version incorporates the new Seymour Duncan Scarlett/Scourge signature pickups.

Presentation
Mark Holcomb's new 6-string signature has all the features that have made its big sister such a huge success with guitarists around the world, but with a few new features.
Firstly, a magnificent Holcomb Blue Burst finish, selected by the artist to bring out the nuances of the quilted maple top.
Secondly, the artist has once again collaborated with American manufacturer Seymour Duncan to develop a new signature set corresponding to Mark's sonic evolution within Periphery (take a listen if you don't know them). The band's particularity is to skilfully mix the most aggressive riffs typical of metal with hyper-worked ambiances in clear sound (with lots of effects) as well as the use of complex rhythmics.
To find their place in the guitar trio, Mister Holcomb and Seymour Duncan created the Scarlet/Scourge.
The Scarlet is based on the same principles as its predecessor (Alpha), i.e. a neck pickup that could be used as a central position for a roundness/clickiness compromise and a marked attack. Comprising a ceramic magnet, its output level has been adapted to that of its predecessor for more mid-gain or clean use with deep ambient effects.
The Scourge is a new-generation bridge pickup which, unlike its predecessor the Omega, uses an Alnico VIII magnet and a slightly lower output level for greater precision. The special sound characteristics of this alloy combine the aggressiveness of Ceramic with the roundness of Alnico V.
