Presentation
The Sterling by Music Man JP70 in Mystic Dream with a gloss finish is a 7-string electric guitar that takes the classic design of John Petrucci's JP7 and adds a modern twist. Its Nyatoh body, renowned for its robustness and acoustic qualities, is paired with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, providing a smooth and enjoyable playing experience thanks to a 400 mm radius. The guitar is equipped with die-cast locking tuners and a modern floating tremolo, ensuring optimum tuning stability, perfect for guitarists looking to avoid detuning issues.
The two Sterling by Music Man humbucker pickups are strategically positioned at the bridge and neck, controlled via a 3-way switch. This configuration allows you to navigate between powerful tones and more subtle nuances, with clear and precise sound definition. The gloss Mystic Dream finish and black hardware provide a striking aesthetic contrast, while the JP Shield logo on the first fret adds a stylish touch.
With its medium jumbo frets, the JP70 makes bending and fast playing easy, while its 648mm scale length allows you to explore a wide range of notes while maintaining optimal playability. The Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 Strings, supplied pre-mounted, ensure a balanced tonal response from the first chord. In short, the Sterling by Music Man JP70 Mystic Dream offers the perfect blend of modern style and performance for discerning guitarists.

To find out more...
A guitarist since the age of 12, John Petrucci is a legend in the world of progressive metal. With inspirations ranging from Yes, Iron Maiden, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath to Metallica, his six hours of daily practice have made him "one of the best guitarists to ever lay his hands on a guitar neck", according to Premier Guitar.
With his childhood friend Kevin Moore (keyboardist), they formed a cover band in the 80s. It was at Boston high school that he met Mike Portnoy (drummer) with his other childhood friend, John Myung (bassist). After playing covers of Rush and Iron Maiden at Berklee, these four friends decided to form the band "Majesty". This name was already taken, so they renamed their band "Dream Theater".
This would not prevent John Petrucci, years later, from naming his signature guitars "Majesty".
