Some models bear an artist’s name without capturing their spirit. This is not the case with this Bedford, designed by Bob Weir, founding guitarist of the Grateful Dead: every detail reflects his approach to sound, blending psychedelic rock with improvisation.

The offset basswood body (top, sides and back) provides that warm, balanced tone associated with the golden age of Californian rock. The 5-ply pearlescent black F-hole-style pickguard and black backplate give the instrument a distinct vintage look, a far cry from overly polished standard models.

On the electronics front, the Seymour Duncan Designed trio is a game-changer: two Stack P-90s flank a single-coil SC-101, activated by a 5-position blade switch. Add to that the famous ‘blender’ – a rare control that blends the pickups together to sculpt unique textures, from crystal-clear tones to crunchy bite.

The scarf-jointed maple neck, with a C-profile, extends onto an ovangkol fingerboard featuring White Pearloid Block inlays that are highly legible under the spotlights. The 355.6 mm radius and 22 medium vintage nickel-silver frets provide a generous playing surface for bends and drawn-out solos.

The Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuners keep the tuning stable gig after gig, whilst the 6-point vibrato, doubled at the tailpiece, adds that subtle tremolo touch so beloved by fans of psychedelic soundscapes. A gig bag is included to help you transport the guitar between rehearsals and gigs.
