Signature Guitar

Paul Reed Smith and Mark Holcomb, the brilliant guitarist behind Periphery and Haunted Shores, have collaborated to rethink Holcomb's signature SVN (for 7 strings) model and present this brand new generation. Featuring classic elements such as a mahogany body with quilted maple top, maple neck with ebony fingerboard and 20" radius, this updated version also incorporates brand new Seymour Duncan Scarlett/Scourge pickups, specially designed for this model. A demonic beauty that's more versatile than you might expect.

ARTICLE N° 92766
Mark Holcomb's brand new 7-string signature retains the features that have made its big sister such a phenomenal success with guitarists the world over, while introducing a few new features.

First of all, it has a sublime finish called Holcomb Blue Burst, chosen by the artist to bring out the nuances of the quilted maple top.

Then, as part of his renewed collaboration with American manufacturer Seymour Duncan, the artist worked on the development of a new signature set, in phase with Mark's sonic evolution within Periphery (give the band a listen, we assure you it's worth it). The band's particularity lies in its ability to skilfully blend aggressive metallic riffs with meticulously crafted clean-sound ambiences (enhanced by a host of effects) and the use of complex rhythmics.

To fit in with the guitar trio, Mr Holcomb and Seymour Duncan created the Scarlet/Scourge pickups.

The Scarlet follows in the footsteps of its predecessor (Alpha), offering a neck pickup that can be used in a central position, providing a balance of roundness and clarity with a pronounced attack. Featuring a ceramic magnet, its output level has been adjusted for use in Mid-Gain or Clean, enhanced by deep ambient effects.

The Scourge is a new-generation bridge microphone. Unlike its Omega predecessor, it uses an Alnico VIII magnet and has a slightly reduced output level for greater precision. The magnet's special sound alloy combines the aggressiveness of ceramic with the roundness of Alnico V.
