The Radial PowerPre is a high-quality pre-amplifier module designed to fit inside the WORKHORSE. Made up of 100% discrete circuits, it delivers no less than 70db of maximum gain.
The output stage uses a transformer for even greater roundness and richness.
The front panel is fitted with an XLR socket for microphone input, plus an inlaid 48V mini switch for even greater safety when using a ribbon microphone, for example.
Unlike most preamps on the market, which require precise input gain adjustment to avoid unwanted background noise, the Powerpre uses AccuState technology to adapt the signal-to-noise ratio at all levels.
A ten-segment vumeter provides ultra-precise indication of input stage levels for fine-tuning each take.
