Union Audio - phoebe RIAA amplifier

The phoebe RIAA amplifier has been developed to meet a need often neglected in DJ mixers: the quality of phono inputs. By offering a dedicated preamplifier capable of accurately handling moving magnet cartridges, it preserves the integrity of the vinyl signal without suffering the limitations of integrated preamps. Its compact metal-alloy design contains carefully designed circuits, optimised to deliver transparent reproduction across the entire audible band. The result is clarity in the highs, definition in the midrange and firmness at the bottom end of the spectrum, making it a real asset in a professional setup.

The adjustable gain allows you to effectively compensate for differences between the output levels of the various cartridges on the market. Union Audio also incorporates a +6dB boost button, useful for harmonising the level with the rest of the system without resorting to downstream correction. The rear impedance selector switches between 47 kΩ and 74 kΩ, providing an ideal match depending on the cartridge used. This flexibility provides a degree of customisation that is appreciated in both DJing and audiophile listening.

The preamp also includes a subharmonic filter around 22 Hz, designed to attenuate very low frequencies likely to be generated by vibrations, acoustic feedback or sensitive turntables. In club environments, this filtering helps to stabilise the system and avoid undesirable resonances, while in home listening, it keeps the signal clean without altering the perception of useful bass.

The whole system works with a particularly low noise level and controlled distortion even at higher levels, guaranteeing faithful, stable reproduction. The external power supply supplied covers a wide voltage range, ensuring international compatibility without compromising performance.
