Electric Bass
An electric bass with an instantly recognisable style, the Rickenbacker 4003JG Jet Glow is a model apart in the 4-string galaxy. This version retains the racy elegance of the classic design, while relying on rigorous lutherie, with a solid maple body and slotted neck. The gloss black finish, accented by a silver pickguard and pearlescent triangular markers, shows a taste for discreet staging. And don't let its chic looks fool you: this 4003JG can growl, snap and rumble, in mono and stereo.

Presentation
Those who have already tried it will tell you: the Rickenbacker 4003JG Jet Glow has its own way of gluing you to the game.
The through maple neck, combined with a Caribbean rosewood fingerboard, creates an almost intuitive connection with the player. Add to that a 254mm radius and pearlescent triangles, and you've got a comfortable, precise and visually flattering playing surface.
The feel under the fingers is fluid, almost tactile. It's the instrument that ends up guiding your lines, not the other way round. And when it comes to the details that really count: the open Schaller Deluxe tuners ensure impeccable tuning, even if you've decided to test the limits of your groove.
In terms of sonic personality, the 4003JG Jet Glow is no slouch. Its duo of single-coil Hi-Gain pickups - bridge and neck position - deliver a broad, muscular spectrum. This isn't a whispering bass: it talks loud, clear and without accent.
The 3-position selector and the Volume/Tone tandem per pickup give you control over a sound character that remains coherent, even in the midst of an amplification crisis. The 2 jack outputs (mono and stereo) can be used to sculpt a two-stage signal, for those who like to work their sound without moderation.
In terms of looks, the 4003JG Jet Glow remains faithful to the Rickenbacker tradition, while imposing its own signature style. Its gloss black finish, contrasted by a silver pickguard, gives it the air of a dressy evening bass, without preventing it from rubbing shoulders with the roughest amps.
The cream binding on the body and neck underlines the slim lines of this cult silhouette. It's a bass that takes an aesthetic stand without going over the top - except perhaps for travelling, but the included case takes care of that just fine.

To find out more...
If you're familiar with the 4001 or even the early 4003s, you'll notice a few subtle changes on this model.
The RIC V2 bridge finally corrects some of the capricious mechanical details of previous versions.
And for sound tweaking enthusiasts, the stereo output isn't just for show: it opens the door to some rather amusing... if not downright bizarre... parallel effects chains.
Mythical basses that many renowned bassists from all walks of life use for their unrivalled sustain, punchy high frequencies and deep bass frequencies... not to mention their irreproachable playing comfort! Watch/listen to Chris Squire, Tom Petty or the late Lemmy from Motörhead and you'll understand just how rare the versatility of the 4003 is!
