Rme - AES25 Tascam PRO 3m
The Tascam PRO 3m RME AES25 establishes a direct digital link between two devices equipped with TASCAM AES/EBU 25-pin D-Sub connectors. Its crossover cabling matches the AES3 inputs and outputs between the two devices, whilst the 110-ohm impedance is suitable for transmitting digital audio signals up to 192 kHz. At 3 metres in length, this cable allows you to connect interfaces, AES/EBU cards, converters or control room equipment situated at a distance from one another without the need for XLR breakouts.
Presentation
The two male D-Sub 25 connectors use the TASCAM pinout designed for multi-channel AES/EBU connections. The internal wiring is cross-cable, with the corresponding inputs and outputs connected in such a way as to allow the exchange of digital signals between the devices. This design is particularly well-suited to RME devices featuring an AES D-Sub connector that uses this same pinout.
The cable carries AES3 digital audio signals with a characteristic impedance of 110 ohms. RME states that this range of AES/EBU cables is compatible up to 192 kHz. The D-Sub format allows several digital connections to be grouped together in a single cable, thereby reducing the number of cables required in a rack or control room.
The 3-metre length provides sufficient leeway when devices are not installed directly side by side. It is suitable, for example, for connecting two racks, an audio interface to a converter, or various pieces of digital equipment in a control room. The cable can thus follow a defined route whilst maintaining a direct connection at both ends.
The RME AES25 Tascam PRO 3m features the same construction as the ALVA AES/EBU Multicore range, with a 14 mm black sheath and D-Sub 25 connectors fitted with a 4/40 UNC thread. This design makes it an AES/EBU D-Sub 25 cable suitable for studio, broadcast, control room and audio production installations using the TASCAM standard.
