Rme - DMC-842M
The DMC-842 is both an 8-channel AES42 interface and a digital microphone controller. It connects and controls up to 8 digital microphones and converts their signals to ADAT, AES/EBU, analogue and MADI. Eight individually switchable high-end sample rate converters provide flexible clocking and other options for use, especially as the inputs are also compatible with AES3 and AES/EBU.

As a result, the DMC-842M is the most flexible and compatible AES42 interface available, a real milestone in the widespread acceptance of new digital microphone technology.
The DMC-842M is fully remote controllable, via MIDI, AES and (optionally) MADI. The installed I64 MADI card provides serial transmission capability from one DMC-842 to the next (up to 8). Up to 64 audio signals are then available on the last device on a single line. Cascading is also possible with Micstasy and ADI-8 QS. The signals transmitted by the DMC-842M are available on the analogue outputs, making an expensive on-stage splitter obsolete.
