Rme - MADI 20m Duplex

The choice of a MADI cable is not limited to its length; the type of fibre, the connectors and whether it is a simplex or duplex configuration are also factors to be taken into account. The RME MADI 20m Duplex digital cable features a two-fibre, 62.5/125 µm multimode optical fibre design, with an SC connector at each end.

This design gives the cable a diameter of 2 x 2.5 mm and distinguishes it from the Simplex models in the RME range. The orange sheath provides an easily identifiable visual marker when organising digital audio cabling. The SC-SC connectors are directly suited to optical MADI links using this type of interface.

At 20 metres in length, this model can be integrated into various MADI cabling set-ups, ranging from a studio installation to an audio control room containing several compatible devices. In particular, it serves as an SC-SC optical MADI cable for long-distance connections, without altering the transmission characteristics specific to the MADI format.

The RME MADI 20m Duplex is designated MADI20D. It forms part of a range comprising several Duplex lengths, with versions measuring 3, 6, 10, 20 and 50 metres. This variant therefore combines a 20-metre length with a duplex construction using 62.5/125 µm multimode fibre, for set-ups requiring this type of digital audio connection.
